Local Peace Resources, Youth, PWDs and Women’s Leadership

Conflicts often arise from intolerance of others or from preconceived notions about the different other, which most of the time comes from ignorance. We believe that diversity is a bountiful source for enriching the experience of individuals' participation and the process of learning from their differences and experiences, which can promote peaceful coexistence in societies. All of this basically entails engaging in cultural dialogue processes and exchanging ideas and differences with the intention of developing a deep understanding of the different other and our perceptions of it. According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), “intercultural dialogue fosters social cohesion and helps to create an environment conducive to sustainable development.” We seek to be a center of knowledge and dialogue and to be more capable of promoting dialogue between different cultures.
