Our project aimed to empower the local peace resources of Community–Based Organizations (CBOs) and grassroots organizations, particularly youth and women, to become agents of change in their communities. We worked to enhance conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and social cohesion efforts in Salqin and Kafr Takharim, and to amplify the voices of marginalized groups especially youth, women, IDPs, and people with disabilities in identifying and responding to community issues. Youth and women-led initiatives were the lifeblood of community resilience, yet they often faced barriers to accessing the skills and resources needed to thrive. Through the capacity-building phase, we equipped these initiatives with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to navigate challenges, mobilize resources, and drive meaningful change. From conflict resolution and civic engagement to digital advocacy and leadership development, we empowered local peace resources to lead with vision, purpose, and sustainable impact. We facilitated the implementation of community-led initiatives, providing opportunities for local peace resources to actively participate in identifying and responding to pressing community concerns. Dialogue forums served as platforms for stakeholders to express their recommendations, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among stakeholders such as donors, INGOs, NGOs, CBOs, and volunteer teams. We recognized that the invaluable insights and recommendations generated by local peace resources often remained unheard of beyond their immediate communities. Through dialogue forums, we elevated these voices and ensured that stakeholders were aware of their perspectives, needs, and solutions. By bridging this gap, we enabled local actors to shape and influence policies, programs, and practices that directly impacted their lives and communities.

To enhance the programs, policies, and practices of stakeholders through informing them about the local peace resource recommendations.
Activity 1.1
The activity involved convening six dialogue forums in Salqin and Kafr Takharim, bringing together diverse stakeholders, including community members, local civil society actors, and representatives from relevant organizations. These forums served as inclusive platforms for facilitated discussions, where participants collectively identified key community issues, challenges, and priorities related to peacebuilding, social cohesion, and local governance. Number of dialogue forums: 6 forums Number of sessions: 4 sessions per forum (2 sessions per location) Total sessions: 24 sessions (4*6 locations) Participants: 480 people from local peace resources (depending on the topic of each forum), 20 people in each session Duration of each dialogue session: 3 hours
Activity 1.2
The activity involved organizing a virtual meeting via webinar, bringing together stakeholders from various organizations. The activity fostered ownership and buy-in for the proposed interventions, enhancing the likelihood of successful implementation and sustainability. During the meeting, representatives presented the recommendation papers developed through dialogue forums, highlighting key findings, proposed strategies, and priority actions identified by community stakeholders. The presentation included slides, discussions, and Q&A sessions to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the recommendations and their implications.
To enhance the role of youth and women roles in addressing community issues of youth, women, and people with disabilities through community initiatives led by youth and women.
Activity 2.1
The training equipped the local peace resources/CBO representatives with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to effectively fulfill their roles as agents of change and community leaders. By enhancing their capacity in areas such as conflict resolution, leadership, and digital advocacy, the activity strengthened the organizational effectiveness and impact of CBOs in driving positive social change. It also enhanced their voice and agency in decision-making processes, fostering a more inclusive and participatory approach to peacebuilding and development. The training enabled the local peace resources to leverage their enhanced skills and knowledge to initiate and implement community-led initiatives that addressed pressing social issues and promoted peace and stability. Number of training days: 23 days divided into three training packages Duration of each training day: 5 hours Location: Online and on-site (Salqin). Transportation was provided for participants from Kafr Takharim to come to Salqin Human resources: trainers, project staff Participants: 60 people across all training packages, 20 people from local peace resources in three different groups
Activity 2.2
The activity involved the implementation of six community-led initiatives that directly addressed the key issues and priorities identified during the dialogue forums. The community initiatives were implemented according to the agreed-upon plans and timelines. We provided coaching sessions and technical support to enhance skills and build organizational capacity, with the ultimate goal of promoting sustainability and long-term impact. The activity promoted a bottom-up approach to peacebuilding that reflected the unique needs and aspirations of local peace resources and encouraged them to take ownership of the peacebuilding process and actively participate in addressing their challenges and needs. Number of initiatives: 6 initiatives (one initiative for each dialogue topic) Duration of initiatives: 2 months Location: Online and on-site (Salqin and Kafr Takharim) Financial support for each initiative: $1,500
